THERE'S NOTHING LEFT FOR GIVING HERE AT ALL

Oh Henry stands
He's trying to hold on to something
Sketching out life plans
But the time the space the people
Are spilling like the sands
Running twixt his fingers
Abandoning his hands

Oh Henry stands
Mother called him idiot because the dishes wouldn’t fit
As she commands
Him to mop up the tears he cried to leave his every wish denied
Until her every thoughts complied to
Oh Henry doll-face let's remind you
Again of the time in middle school when
You broke another stupid rule and
Mother felt so sad.
Henry darling Henry dearest why don’t you feel bad?
Don't you feel indebted for all you’ve ever had?

So Henry stands
His eyes are dry of tears because he's learned throughout the years the cause of crying is a fearsome one and he shouldn't have to fear someone who never changes never grows to see the things that Henry knows to be true about life
suppose that Henry doesn't know a thing at all
Good thing he's leaving home this coming fall.
Perhaps he's worth forgiving after all.

There’s nothing left for giving here at all.
