They haven’t told us about Lugansk.

Already the news has forgotten the dead

as their blood dries on the street.

Ignored the screams of civilians, of innocents,

of those with no defense

Already forgotten the hatred, the war crimes complete

Of the men in the planes 

dropping bombs in the lanes

of the roads in the heart of Lugansk.

 

Forgotten the

Mangled bodies on the steps

Forgotten

A sky of bombers slicing air

draining life, raining death

rubble, smoke on every breath

How could they forget?

How could they have let

This story pass with time

If murder is a crime,

isn’t it’s allowance?

So will you be criminal?  If you are allowed ignorance,

will you accept?

For the first time in history, the people have the power to preserve the truth.  

For the first time, our brethren across waters need not be steeped in shadow

So why are they?
